Are digital tape measures accurate?
Most digital tape measures are accurate to within 1/8 of an inch for up to 300 feet. And in some cases, it can measure up to 650 feet.
What is metric measuring tape?
On a metric tape you will basically see markings for meters, centimeters, and millimeters. Numbers shown represent meters, decimeters (sometimes shown in red-see example picture), and centimeters. Metric is based on 'tens'.
Are digital tape measures worth it?
If you only use the tape measure in your tool drawer occasionally, you probably don't need to replace it with a digital one. But if you do a lot of measuring, especially over distances longer than 16 feet, upgrading to a digital tape measure is worth it.
Is a tape measure in cm or inches?
A measuring tape shows marking in two different units—centimeters and inches. The measurements on the bottom of the image given below are in centimeters and millimeters. 10 millimeters make 1 cm, so there are 10 divisions between each centimeter.
